A big THANKYOU to the 30 volunteers who turned up for the Rock Fest last Saturday.

All sporting sections were represented so it was a great Club effort.

This Saturday however it is on again as we will need probably say 12 volunteers to spread mulch and sheep manure.

Again bring gloves, shovels/spades and wheel barrows.

See you Saturday 9th at 9am.

WINTER BOWLS

With only Trevors Carpet remaining to complete our main bowling fixture for this season, I am planning towards a winter programme for members.

Sharon, Butch and Geoff have offered to run a Tuesday competition and this will commence Tuesday 12th April. Mufti of course.

I need someone (or a couple) to run a Cash Pairs competition on Saturday afternoons. If you are prepared to help with this please contact me ASAP.

Even if you can’t commit to every Saturday we need a few bowlers who could help out on the occasions the organisers are away.

I would like to have this competition under way soon after the Trevors Carpet carnival (16th & 17th April).

Please give this your serious consideration as we all enjoy a Saturday Competition but it requires organisers and helpers for it to happen. Some new faces would be appreciated.

Thanks to the bowlers who supported the “Rock Festival” last Saturday morning. Great effort!

 Committee2016-17 Season.

The nomination form is on the notice board and more names are required to establish a committee for the ensuing season. Please consider.

 Cheers

Rob Pollard

Captain

Dates for your diaries:

April 29th & 30th:  Port Bouvard Croquet are sending 8 players to play Ricochet over 2 days.

Work is underway extending the north east corner of Court 1.  It should not interfere with play.  The work is happening so that we can move the position of the court and it’s hoops to prevent the degrading of the areas around the hoops.

Hello Golfers
1. We have been lucky enough to have Steve Dartnall (who plays in the Australian Open and other
comps) offer his expertise to us. Steve is willing to do some golf coaching at the Club on Sundays
in the next few weeks. This initially was for Juniors but Steve is happy to do some adult coaching
as well in groups. The coaching would be maybe chipping week 1, putting week 2, driving week 3,
irons week 4 or whatever you require.
If you are interested in some coaching could you please email me to let me know so we can get
some idea of interest at adult level.
The cost would be around $20 per session per person.
2. The 100 club is ticking along but we need everyone to try and sell a ticket or 2 in the next 4
weeks as that is when the first draw will be. So if you haven’t sold or bought a ticket or 2 to date
please get revved up!! -not long to go!! If you get 5 people together @$20 per person to form a
syndicate the tickets would be easier to sell if people don’t want to buy one outright or go halves
with someone. Check out neighbours, friends, relatives, family, whoever crosses your path. If
everyone can sell at least 2 tickets we will reach our target of 100 tickets which is all going towards
helping fund our green upgrade that has been completed over the summer and for everyones
benefit of a better golf course for all of us to use.
Ladies golf starts this Thursday 7th of April and is 10 holes followed by a lunch (please bring a
small plate of either a savoury or a sweet to share) and this will be followed by a short meeting
about the upcoming fashion parade on Wed 4th of May.
So lots happening already!!
Happy Golfing!!
Vicki
PS the DDCC is changing to an online membership programme and the Membership format is
changing. To impliment this each person needs to have their own email address to be able to login
to update your own membership. Don’t worry it is quite simple!! I will help anyone with this
changeover.
If you are the only person in your family that are a DDCC Member and you already have an email
address you do not need to do anything. If you and your partner are DDCC members then you
both need a separate email address to use as your login. So if you already have a couple of email
addresses at home could you please email me and let me know who will use each address.
I will talk to you about this on Thursday at golf as well.
The programme is called Wild Apricot so if you get an email please do not treat it as spam. Just
read what it says and follow the instructions.
If you need to set up a second email and don’t know how I will help out (I HOPE!!!)
This will not commence until 1st of June so do not panic!!
Cheers Vicki

Sincere thanks to all of the tennis members who assisted on Saturday to re-position the rock walls around the tennis courts and tidy the carpark area.  Volunteers are also required next Saturday 9 April to spread mulch over the same area.

On Saturday 23 April the annual “Old Cow Bell Tournament” will be conducted.  This is a social tournament with the opportunity for some enjoyable seriously sociable tennis and a chance to have your name included on the Old Cow Bell for 2016.  We look forward to seeing you all on that day for tennis and aprez-tennis.

Dunsborough Junior Tennis

The pennants team and myself traveled to perth for the Brixton Street Tournament held at Thornlie over the easter weekend. The tournament was chosen for its surface, the players prefer the hard courts. We were soundly beaten in singles and it was a good for the boys to see  the competition in Perth. Great experience and match play. Rain played havoc on the saturday putting the tournament behind in schedule and the boys had to forfeit  the doubles to get back to dunsborogh in reasonable time, a disappointment. All in all fun by all, I needed counseling looking after four teenage lads and still recovering Congratulations to Lincoln Gray, Kai Keegan, Mathew James and Seth Eguiguren for playing tournament.
