Hello Members, Sponsors & Patrons

It was a busy night on Friday with around 130 in for dinner.  Twilight bowls and croquet were also well supported. Come along this Friday and enjoy a night out with friends and a great meal.

Bowls News

The Friday twilight bowls competition will run from 6pm – 7.15pm at a cost of $5.  Everyone is invited to attend what will be a fun and enjoyable evening.  The kitchen will still be open and meals will be available.

The Men’s Veterans and Novice Single Championships were played on Sunday.  The weather held off with only a small shower or two but the winds got stronger throughout the day, particularly when the major was being played,

The three novice games were just excellent and highly entertaining.  Garry Robinson, Kevin Nichols and Richard Bingham each won a closely fought and contested game and the final result was almost impossible to split.  After deliberation and consultation Garry Robinson was declared the Novice Champion for 2015 with Richard Bingham the runner-up.  Just two shots separated the final decision.  This all goes well for the club.

The Veteran’s competition also included a Plate and that first round was very close but ensured that Andre Gil met up with Rob Prentice who eventually won.

Rod Winchcombe played against Ian Creagh for the championship title after they made the decision to finish in one day, and not come back to the rinks on Monday.  Congratulations to Rod for taking out the vets title, and to all players on the day for the excellent bowls that were played.

Markers are also thanked.  Butch Sharpe, Edmund Hoemberg, Mike Brown, Brian Marwick,  Merv Mott, Ray Scrimgeour, John Tucker who marked after he played.  Thanks to everyone.

Great day, great bowls and great entertainment.

In the words of Ed Hoemberg “KEVIIIIIIN”!>
