Round 6 of the winter “Dash for Cash” competition was held last Saturday with 24 bowlers, including visitors from Brunswick, Cambridge, and Fremantle, enjoying a cold but sunny day.
Jem Coupar and Graeme Winter won the day, with Judy Henderson and Ed Bunbury and Dan from Brunswick second. Ken Holyoake still heads the ladder with the winter Kitty presently standing at $60. Let’s catch him folks!

Croquet News

The weather gods were a little unhappy to see the  Croquet players appear early on Saturday morning  at Bunnings to set up the sausage sizzle,to the point that the tent almost blew away, however they discovered that stalwart croquet players are not so easily deterred’ and the weather improved as the day wore on.

The biggest of thanks to Steve and Glen who took on the job of organising and running the day,also to all the players who put up their hands to work during the day. The end result was a profit of $1.300.00. WELL DONE

Ladies Golf.

NINE HOLES
13 ladies played a stableford on the front nine on Tues 31st.
Dot Carmody scored 18 points, but had to have 2 deducted as she had been a winner previously. This made May Armstrong winner with 17 points and Dot
Runner-up.
EIGHTEEN HOLES
June 2nd 18 ladies played a stroke and putting competition, with those not wishing to play stroke playing a stableford.
Best gross of 93 strokes was won by Vicki Frost on a countback from Jill Winter.
Best Nett was won by Bethia Newton with 72 nett, and once again Jill Winter was runner-up with 73 nett.
A grade putting was won by Daisy Grist with 25 putts.
B Grade putting went to Lyn Flugge with 32 putts.
Nancy Williams had the best 3rd shot on no. 7, while Aileen Morris had the best 3rd shot on no. 9.
As of the 1st July the fee to play will be $7, the same as the men pay.

Tennis News

Cans of used tennis balls are available for purchase in the Clubrooms’ for the cost of $2.00.  These cans are stacked against the wall above the bookshelf.  There is a red cash box on the bookshelf and we would appreciate you using this for the purchase of these used balls.  The balls are in reasonable condition and in every case, used on one Saturday afternoon only.

The Tennis Section continues to attract visitors and members on Saturday afternoons with a very good standard of play and an excellent social environment.  The cooler wintry days still do not deter the enthusiasm of tennis players.

Friday Night Jackpot

The Jackpot Draw on Friday night was not won.  Bad luck Mike Brown.  The draw this Friday will be for $700. Members must be financial and present to claim.  The Jackpot is drawn between 5.30pm and 6.30pm in the Clubroom bar.
