CROQUET NEWS

Croquet News   8.6.18

There were fewer players on the courts this week, mainly due to the weather.

Many players are or have taken off on overseas holidays.  We wish them a great holiday and come back safely from your travels.  Pictures please people so we can be envious of you travelling to warmer climates than we have here at the moment.

Courts have been modified due to the weather with a State tournament in A/C coming up in September.  This is so they can repair and be in good condition for the event.

                   Cartoon of the week

Can you identify any of these players?

Tuesday Mixed Social Bowls

July 24th 2018

We had another very good turnout for the weather conditions – 22 keen bowlers and we had a ball.  Some excellent bowls played and some good fun.  Four players made it through to the final with Toby McCarthy the first to qualify followed by Geoff Oddy, Don Henderson and John Halden.  There was some excellent bowls played in the 4 end final but no one was able to grab the lead so it ended in a draw.

Well done guys and we hope to see you all again next Tuesday.

July 31st 2018

We had another enjoyable day of fun bowls and 20 players attended.  The weather tested us a few times but we made it through again.  There was a great amount of laughter and banter amongst the groups playing which makes for a very enjoyable day.  Butch Sharpe, Sharon Sharpe, Brian Logan and Barb Moylan were fortunate enough to make it through to the final but no one gained the upper hand so it ended in a draw once again.  Thanks everyone for coming along and hope to see you next Tuesday.

Hi riders,

Regular MTB ride leaves 4.30pm every Wed, weather permitting, from Dunsborough Country Club.

Approx 1.5 to 2 hours ride, cross country, 25 kms give or take a few kms.

BYO lights essential.

This replaces our 6.30 am ride over winter, as we  would rather sleep in at the moment!

Cheers, Helen
