Club Spring Cleaning

Friday September 2nd @ 9.00am

Rob Pollard and Rob Prentice have done a walk around our Clubhouse building and have found it to be in good condition but a few minor requirements need attention.

So a complete Busy Bee Spring-Cleanup is being organised throughout the Clubhouse.

There are a few minor paint jobs, maintenance etc that are on the “To Do List”. There is no need for any weeding to be done as that has been undertaken with spraying.

So come on down everyone, be there before 9am, be prepared to help out for an hour or so and stay to enjoy coffee with everyone afterwards.

Twelve crazy bowlers were joined by Chris and Keith from Fremantle Bowling Club to continue “Dash for Cash” in high cross winds and frequent showers last Saturday. In the event, the two sets of twelve ends were completed with Maureen Hines and Norm Gage pipping Jill Winter and Ken Holyoake by three shots on aggregate. DUNSBOROUGH & DISTRICTS COUNTRY CLUB – Hosts C.V.A. of W.A. Competition

Wednesday 24 August , 2016

Dunsborough and Districts Country Club hosted the Country Vets Association of W.A. golf fixture for the 24 August, 2016, with 114 players from Pinjarra in the north, Kojonup in the east , Pemberton and Augusta in the south and to western coastline towns and others in between representing some twenty Clubs.

For some players, this is a twelve hour day leaving home at 6.30 am and arriving home at 6.30 pm, however the chance to play on twenty different courses over a year, meet up with mates, socialize with friends from all walks of life, being 55 years or over, or maybe in the elite O.B.E . (80 years +) and still play eighteen holes of golf is a great example, incentive and privilege that members are able to enjoy at least once a fortnight.

For the hosting Clubs, the event requires voluntary effort from all members and helpers with the ladies doing a wonderful job of catering, helping with the organisation , whilst the men do the course preparation and organisation as necessary to accommodate around one hundred players for each competition day.

This year is the 40 th anniversary of the establishment of the Dunsborough Country Club’s golf course and visiting players were able to use the newly renovated greens for the first time whilst the perfect weather made the course look a picture for the occasion.

We are privileged and proud to be part of the CVA and thank all involved for the player support , sporting and social attitude , voluntary contribution , goodwill and cameradie that exists within the organisation.

Mark Embry -Ron Carmody – Delegates ( On behalf of DDCC. )
