Happenings Around The Club

The Dunsborough Country Club will be holding a “Have a Go” Day this Sunday 14th January from 11.00am to 4.00pm.  This is a free day to attend.  All of the Clubs sporting sections are taking part.  Kids entertainment will be provided through out the day. Food can be purchased from the Town Kitchen from midday to 7.00pm.  Mike Wilkinson will be providing music entertainment from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.  If you do not have anyone to introduce to the Club please come along and enjoy the afternoon music and have a meal.  It will be great to see as many people as we can muster attend the day.

Mahjong

It is proposed to start a second Mahjong group at the Club from 1-4pm,on a Monday or Wednesday afternoon.  Please let non Club members know if you think they may be interested.  There will also be Mahjong play at the Club this Sunday 14th during the Open Day.

Other detail:  the group is for men & women, players do not play with a partner as in Bridge so single players are very welcome; western style Mahjong will be the main focus. . 3 introductory sessions will be held in February or March before the Club format begins.

BOWLS NEWS

 

MEN’S BOWLS

Good luck to all of the Dunsborough bowlers selected to represent the Leeuwin Leaugue in Mandurah this coming weekend.

Thursday Bowls

There was a record number of men (57) attended last Thursday social bowls.  It was a great day and atmosphere around the bar.

The winners for the day were G.Sansom, B.Pearce And Merv Mott.

Runners Up were Rolf and S.Whitfield.

Pennants Results

Dunsborough Gold were victorious over Cowaramup.

Corporate Bowls 2018 begins next Tuesday 16th January.

GOLF NEWS

MEN’S GOLF

Last Saturday’s  results saw Jim Parry  win the day with a score of 36.

Runner up was Barry Guest with a score of 35 Paul Smith won the longest putt on No 18.

Adjustments of plus one and minus one make the end result interesting for all players. Room for all to take a place on the winners list!

All you have to do is participate.

MTB riders wanted for bragging rights in the MRORCA / Dunsborough Cycling Club Summer Series- starts Tues Jan 9th.

FRIDAY NIGHT

The Jackpot Draw was not won on Friday.  There was two raffles held therefore the Jackpot will be $800  this week.  Members must be financial for the 2017/18 membership year now and present to claim. The Jackpot is drawn between 5.30pm and 6.30pm in the Clubroom bar.
