Hello Members, Sponsors & Patron
APPRECIATION
The Management Team and I wish to thank our Maintenance Manager, Rob Pollard for all the work he has diligently programmed this year and the work completed so far.
Rob undertakes much of the work himself but has had wonderful help from many volunteers.
Some of the work completed so far has been the greening of the entrance and foyer and Rob’s “piece de resistance”, the garden area in front of the tennis courts.
The busy bees carried out over three days to achieve these results have been supported by many volunteers from all sporting sections..
Well done to all involved. However, I must make special mention of Ken Holyoake who was given a leave pass on the second day because he had to travel in from Busselton
but he disobeyed and baked a delicious batch of scones for the volunteers morning tea. Also many thanks to Butch Sharpe and Rod Winchcombe for the various painting jobs done around the Club.
Another big thank you must go to all the Club volunteers who helped with last week’s Trevor’s Carpets Carnival, the X Adventure and on ANZAC Day. It is great to be part of a Club where so many people are willing to give up their time to help out where needed.
.Now for upgrading the front verge which is under Vicki Frost’s stewardship.
All in all a Club to be proud of.

Men’s Golf Section Newsletter 26 April, 2016 (Ron Carmody)
This ANZAC DAY Weekend was a busy one for our Golf Section.
The Men played the Memorial Day Two Man Ambrose Event sponsored by Jim Parry on Saturday. At the presentations Jim spoke of the past Members such Glyn Evans, Plugger Allen, Ron Forster, Nobby Clark, Rob Jones, Bill Vickery,Rod Grist and Jim Robertson among others, who did much to set up the golf section and course etc which is their legacy to us today.
We are all very appreciative of their efforts.
Winners on the Day were Dennis Frost and Brian Hunter with a Nett of 67 ¼
Barry Guest and Barry Jackson were Runners Up with a Nett score of 67 ½ .
With the lowest score being 71 ½ , the fifteen players did well with the margin being only 4 ¼ between first and last.
On ANZAC Day the Ladies Golf Section catered for the annual luncheon which was attended by some 130 people including visitors and ex -servicemen and women.
Many commented on the atmosphere and meal which was most suited to the occasion.
Many thanks to the great team organized by Dot Carmody and supporters for this special community occasion. Your time and service is greatly appreciated.

Tennis News
Twenty seven tennis players enjoyed a great event – Ye Old Cow Bell Tournament – on Saturday 23 April. The Old Cow Bell has a colourful history which is quite beyond dispute.
Our numbers for the event included three visitors and two junior members, James and Josh. This tournament is an annual event, generally played on the same weekend each year, preceding Anzac Day. All players were required to lodge their scores for each set played and after some innovative and creative handicapping by Greg Banfield, a winner was declared. Nita Pratt was the winner this year and will have her name inscribed on Ye Old Cow Bell for 2016. Well done Nita!
As is customary for the Tennis Section, the afternoon concluded in the Club Rooms with players and partners enjoying drinks and the wonderful tapas available from our Chef, Hamish.
