Hello all members, sponsors & patrons
Club President Richard Renn is seeking member feedback on the future direction of the club. Following recent talks with councilors and officers at the City of Busselton, the Dunsborough & Districts Country Club has been asked to present a 5year Master Plan. This plan will detail the vision, strategic goals and financial forecasts for our club over the next five years. With a rapidly changing Dunsborough demography, there is an opportunity to present the City of Busselton with a Master Plan that details a vision of striving to maintain and further improve our facilities, so they are always in tune with community needs and of the highest quality. The 5year Plan will also describe how we will intend to offer premium sporting programs, services and amenities to ensure long term satisfaction among our entire membership.
We have a great history and many fine traditions that we want to preserve, but we also need to continue to advance our Club to meet the changing lifestyles of members and prospective members.
A ‘Vision Statement’ and strategic ‘Club Goals’ will guide our Club and its management in a variety of areas. Below are some of the specific goals to be used to guide the various committees as they evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their respective sporting sections:
Vision Statement “An ongoing pursuit of excellence in facilities, programs and member service where bowls, golf, tennis, croquet, cycling and wellness combine to make Dunsborough & Districts Country Club a place for fellowship and the ‘Club of Choice’ for family members of all ages in and around Dunsborough.”
Club Goals
Full-Service and Family-Oriented Club: Offer a complete membership experience by providing high-quality facilities for social and recreational activities desired by all age groups among the membership.
Great Sport: Have top rated bowls, golf, tennis, croquet, mountain biking and other sports in Dunsborough along with high-quality practice facilities.
Invite Usage and Encourage Participation: Organise the venue to promote interaction among activity users and integrate the facilities with the beautiful natural setting.
Clubhouse as Activity Centre: Create a clubhouse that promotes fellowship and serves as a stimulus for social interactions among the members and their guests.
Health and Wellness: Provide high-quality health and wellness facilities and programs.
Family Recreational Complex: Attract families by providing a family friendly complex with playgrounds, child minding and other junior recreational facilities.
Initial information for the 5year Master Plan has been gathered from the management committee and now the committees of each Sporting Section will be invited to offer opinion and information regarding the 5year Master Plan. Once this information has been gathered all members will be given the opportunity to comment on the plan, prior to presentation to the City of Busselton.
The combined effect of the 5year Master Plan will be to develop a club that continues to strive for top level sport and excellent facilities. We also expect to identify new opportunities and programs for family-oriented social, sporting and recreational activities that will offer our existing members (and members of the future) a venue that provides a highly valued membership with a continued sound financial structure.
More information and feedback opportunities will be available shortly on the club’s website
This will be used to prepare the club and the City of Busselton for the programs, membership and required facilities in the future.
