CROQUET
Gala Day: The annual Gala Day and Christmas lunch was held last Friday. Thank you to all who contributed in any way to the success of the day. 21 players spent the morning testing their croquet skills with a range of challenging activities, and then they were joined by past players for some Christmas cheer. A special presentation was made to Stuart and Norma Dunn in recognition of their contribution to the croquet section. Unfortunately Stuart and Norma are not well enough to continue playing and next year they will relocate to Perth.
Christmas/New Year Break: There will be no organised croquet from now until the week of Jan 11th.
Twilight Croquet: The next session of Twilight Croquet will be on January 8th and will continue whenever there is a Friday Night meal. Come at about 5pm for a quick practise and then play golf croquet. The cost is $3 for DDCC members and $5 for social and non members.
Saturday Croquet: The Croquet Section will introduce a Saturday session next year. The first day will be Saturday January 16th. Play will commence at 2pm and you need to be there about 15 minutes prior so matches can be organised. The form of croquet to be played will be determined by who turns up on the day. Instruction and equipment will be available. Chef Hamish will have tapas available from 4pm so allow time for some socialising after play.
The Croquet players send Christmas greetings to all DDCC members, and best wishes for 2016

“Blue Metal Golf “ played at Dunsborough Country Club
Last Saturday we played the “Blue Metal Putts Competition Event” on Holes 10 to 18which have been completely renovated to the final plan formula, and including five of our original sand green holes.
The Blue Metal event winner was Barry Jackson who completed the 14 Holes using only 22 Putts closely followed by Stephen Roberson on 23 Putts.
This showed that the new blue metal greens played well .
We hope to have the Holes 1 to 9 completed by the first week in the new year.
Well done to you all.
Please note that because of the current work in progress Holes 1 to 9 will be out of action for the next week as they are now being completed.
There will be a Stb Event on Wednesday 23 Dec and there will be no organised fixture for Saturday 26 December as it is Boxing Day.
Merry Xmas everyone and we look forward to your company in the New Year
