BOWLS NEWS
MEN’S BOWLS
Tuesday
Our Dunsborough first-team was at home to Eaton and came away with 4 points winning 50-29 and taking them to the top of the 2nd division ladder, just half a point ahead of Busselton Red. Meanwhile, our second team played their home game against Collie at Capel and, with a draw on one rink, but loss of the aggregate by 32-40, came away the with just half a point, dropping them to 5th on the ladder of 8 teams in the 3rd division.
Thursday
There was a good turnout for the peg-draw despite many players being away at the Augusta triples. Visitors, Richard Badans, and Ric Della Bosca, assisted our Wendell Hoover in winning the meat with 20 shots-up. Steve Kristensen, Ken Littlefair, and Brian Buttsworth took a Mars bar each.
Friday
Sixteen players turned up for mixed bowls in the evening and played for an hour or so before retiring for refreshments. There was only a smattering of non-regulars and we would encourage involvement of more social members in this event.
Saturday
Dunsborough Blue have shot to the top of the Leeuwin League single division with 13 points, just ahead of Margaret River Green, a point behind. This, as a result of an overwhelming victory over Cowaranup Gold by 67 points to 26 on our new carpets. Nannup elected to play their home game at Dunsborough as their grass green is not yet ready. Dunsborough White overwhelmed them by 64 points to 18, placing them 6th on the ladder. Also at home, Dunsborough Gold sacrificed their 4 points to Augusta White by 25-51 and are now 10th on the ladder of the twelve teams involved. Dunsborough Red were away to Margaret River White, playing on their new synthetics and lost both games and the aggregate 28-38, placing them just ahead of Dunsborough White, in 5th place.

TENNIS NEWS
Tennis Section continues to enjoy good numbers at Saturday Social Tennis (from 1.00 pm) including use of the newest courts, although the colour surfacing is not yet complete, but happening soon!
A Busy Bee will be held at the courts on Sunday 26 November @ 9.30 am to further tidy the area and continue work in the area. We welcome all who can come along and lend a hand, which helps make it social time rather than a chore!
Two reminders – Parents, please note your children are welcome to join in Saturday Social Tennis, however individual courts are not available for personal hit-ups during this time due to the numbers of players we need to accommodate.
Booking your court is essential. Booking at the Pay Station also provides evidence of court usage which assists the Club in the application of grants for upgrades and equipment. You are then also assured you are not over-riding a time already booked by another person or group.

CYCLING NEWS
Hi riders,
We had a great turnout for our first summer series social rides, starting the 19th November, showcasing the dual slalom and the dirt jumps. A drink, bar snacks and dinner was enjoyed by many adults and kids after the ride. Kids also enjoyed playing bowls on the new turf.
Check out the link below, (from You Tube and search Global Mountain Bike Network) for some great jumping tips.
How To Jump On A Mountain Bike | MTB Skills
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f-91HEKdQI
The slalom has some nice small jumps for beginner practice. Not recommended to start learning how to jump on the dirt jump area. Remember to always ride within your ability level.
However, we do recommend you check out the great skills demonstrated by the many kids jumping there anytime school is out!
See you on the next ride Sunday Dec 3rd.
The Cycle Club also has a Trail Care Day planned for Sunday Nov 26th. Meet at 8.45 at the sea container, or bring your bikes and find us on the trails. Come along and give our scruffy trails a make over!
Cheers,
Helen
