CROQUET

Court 2: The dream has now been realised. The second court was used for the first time last Thursday when we hosted a SW Pennants  match against Bunbury Central.

Once we re-affiliated with the Croquetwest 3 years ago and became eligible for inclusion in the South West Pennant Competition, the next step was to make court 2 a regulation size.

Raelene Willis headed the project and in her position of greenkeeper has been responsible for the decision making and most of the work.

Our captain, Terry Herd had the honour of being the first to play a match on the new court.

Pennants: Congratulations to the pennant team on another win. The result against Bunbury Central was 2 wins to 1 but more important was the score: 49 hoops to 43.

Twilight Croquet: This will commence on Friday, Nov 6th. Please have you names in at 5pm, and after a short introduction for any newcomers, games will start at 5.15pm. They will finish at 6.15pm, in time for the Friday night meal. The cost will be $5 for social and non- members and $3 for full members. If you arrive and there are already players on the court please don’t think we have started without you as our weekly Friday Golf croquet session is played from 3pm until 5pm.

AGM: The Croquet Section AGM will be held on November 20th. Nomination forms will be on the board and must be completed before that date and handed to Vaile.

Summer playing times:

Association Croquet: Tuesdays and Fridays 8.15 – 12.30.

Newcomers welcome between 10.30 and 12.30 on Fridays. Tuition and equipment is available.

Golf Croquet:  Wednesday and Friday afternoon 3pm – 5pm. Names in by 2.45pm please. Cost is $3 per session for members, $5 per session for social members and non -members. Newcomers welcome to join anytime. Tuition and equipment available.
