PENNANTS FINAL
Last Sunday afternoon saw the finals of the Second Division Pennants played at Margaret River with Dunsborough Blue playing off against the Margaret River team.
The two games of this Division were both fiercely contested and provided excellent entertainment as a first class exhibition of bowls was demonstrated by both our teams.
Bill Hitsert and his team of Clive Williams, Wayne Barnett and Ian Creighfinished just one point ahead of their Margaret River rivals.
Rob Prentice, with Heinz Fischer, Norman Gage and Bay Collison drew with Margaret River.
Dunsborough Blue finished ahead by 1 point to win the aggregate.
Well done to both teams.
TRADERS DAY
This event is to be played next week, Thursday 10th March. Men’s social bowls are cancelled for that day.
I am still hoping that further teams will be nominated for this prestigious event. Great cash prizes are offered and the event has attracted several teams from other Clubs.
It’s the final Open Men’s event for the season so nominate and be part of the fun. It’s Mufti dress, BYO lunch and 9.00am start.
CORPORATE BOWLS
The final Tuesday game will be played tonight. Last Wednesday saw the final Wednesday game played.
The annual Corporate Bowls Challenge between Cowaramup and Dunsborough will be hosted by the Dunsborough Club tomorrow evening. Come along and support this final Corporate Bowls event for the season.
The 2015-16 Corporate Bowls season was again a tremendous success and my thanks are extended to Janice Hoover for the exceptional manner in which she has both organised and run the event this season. A great deal of time, effort and planning is required for this event to proceed successfully and Janice has certainly given so much to ensure the obvious success the event has achieved. My appreciation is also extended to Wendell for his ongoing technical support for the week-to-week planning and recording of teams’ progress. So many volunteers are involved both inside and out on both nights to successfully manage the event and I thank them also.
BANKERS CLUB
Today will see the final game of this series played at Dunsborough. The event has been well supported throughout the 2015-16 season and my thanks got to Peter Cracknell and John Tucker for their efforts in handling the Dunsborough side of this event.

Great News for DDCC Golf Course Players
On 29 February, 2016 our Greens Renovation Project was completed . This is a Leap Year and a Leap Ahead for All Golfers.
We now have 18 greens, consistent, complete, ready for all golfers to hone their putting skills.
This is a part of our great year ahead to celebrate the 40 th Anniversary of Golf at DDCC.
One scrape out and one scrape in and then hole your Putt.
The project has taken a little over a year, including many hours of work by a dedicated team of volunteers and sub committee, sourcing and trialling different types of soils and toppings, use of local contractors and suppliers, valuable support from the Busselton City Council and DDCC Management , Men’s and Ladies “ Golf Committees , Members, and other interested helpers, capably chaired by Men’s Golf President, Brian Morris.
Well Done to You All – Now Enjoy Your Golf!

100 CLUB RAFFLE IS HERE FOR EVERYONE!!
The Combined Golf Section are holding a 100 Club Raffle to help fund our
refurbishing of the golf greens. It is different to the 100 Club held a few years ago.
This is a raffle where only 100 tickets are sold and there will be 9 draws conducted
throughout the year from May until September. Hopefully it will create a bit of
interest and bit of fun along the way as well as raise some money!!
Over the coming golf season there will be 8 Regular Draws each with a 1st prize of
$300 and 2nd prize of $200. Then on September 1st there will be a Final Draw with
a 1st prize of $700, 2nd prize of $200 and 3rd prize of $100.
Overall there are 19 chances to win which equates to nearly a 1 in 5 chance of
winning-so pretty good odds when compared to lotto!! All 100 numbered balls will
be placed in the barrel at the start of each draw-therefore, one number could win
more than one prize but NOT in the SAME draw. The winners DO NOT have to be
present to win.
Results of the draws will be published on the DDCC website and in the DDCC
Weekly Newsletter the following Tuesday of each draw and advertised in the Club.
Tickets are for sale now and are $100 each. So get in quick to be able to select
your favourite number/s ticket. Some may wish to form a group of 4/5 people each
paying $25/$20 each-this may be a good way to buy a ticket. It may be good fun to
be in a couple of groups- more chance of a win!! Perhaps there is a birthday
coming up-maybe a ticket as a present?!?! Or maybe you might just want a ticket
all to yourself!!! Whatever suits you -we will be more than happy to sell you a ticket!!
The first draw is on the 7th of May. So if you wish to purchase a ticket please
contact a golf member (male or female) or contact Vicki Frost on 0428649810 at
any time.
Thank you for your interest and we wish everyone the Best of Luck!!!
Cheers
Vicki Frost
