TENNIS NEWS

A return to sunshine on Saturday brought a good number of tennis players for Social Tennis.  All courts were busy and we were pleased to welcome 8 visitors to join in social sets, including one junior member which is always very welcome.  Well done Patrice – to introduce Steve to our social tennis and come along and join in.

Hopefully, some of our members have taken the opportunity to purchase the Pre-Sale tickets for the Final of the Federation Cup which will be played at Perth RAC Arena on 9 and 10 November.  Should be a great event!

CYCLE NEWS

Hi riders,

Please keep a look out for debri on the trails, although the slippery leaves may assist with your cornering!

You should notice some trail changes…Ivan will be working on our slalom this week so take care.

Y Not has had some attention- Things are a little soft in places but like anything, given a bit of time it will tighten up.

See you out there,

Helen and Cycle Committee

CROQUET NEWS

GOLF CROQUET SINGLES

The final of the Singles Tournament was held on Saturday, when six players competed for the ultimate prize.

Entrants for the Singles competed in two groups over previous weeks, and those players in the final were the highest ranking in their particular group.

Unfortunately there were a couple of scratchings because of ill health or travel.

Congratulations to the eventual winner, Max Kewish, who won all his games, with a hoop score of plus 16. Runner up was Brian Uren with 3 wins and a hoop score of plus 2.

The only female, Julie Dewar, came in third with 2 wins and a hoop score of plus 2. All games were played in great spirit.

Thank you to Golf Croquet Captain, Brian Uren, for organising the tournament, and to Nola Uren, Donelle Hughes and Glen Mackiewicz for the scrumptious morning tea.

Golf Singles Winners: Brian Uren runner up, Max Kewish winner

Golf Singles Competitors: Brian Uren, Eric Watts, Max Kewish, Julie Dewar, Phil Hughes, Robin Beer

THURSDAY BOWLS

What a glorious afternoon for our Thursday Scroungers.

The chocolates were whisked away this week by Rick Delaboska and Greg Quain.

I won’t tell the score but will say no one else came near them.

Consolation 1 winners were John Halden and Keith Rowell with consolation 2 won by the triple combination of John Cuneen, Hans Queckfeldt and Shonkey Gull.

The runners up on the day with a plus 24 were Lynton Thomas and Geoff Benn.

The winners with 2 more points were Bob Qualfi and Jim Paganoni.

The fines session, for some very funny reasons put a large amount of cash into the coffers for the next social event.

Graham Winter found out that talking when the fines session is open is not an option and can be costly.

SATURDAY CASH PAIRS BOWLS

IF YOU WISH TO PLAY BOWLS ON SATURDAYS PLEASE TEXT MIKE O’MARA to REGISTER YOUR INTEREST BY FRIDAY 3PM ON 0476897414
