Hello all members, sponsors & patrons
It was an extremely busy weekend around the Club with X Adventure, Men’s Pennants and the Finals of the Professional Men’s Singles.
I would personally like to thank Leanne for all her effort in the bar, the amazing volunteers in the kitchen and the parking volunteers who all worked extremely hard over the weekend. The Club profited well financially from the event. It gives me a great amount of pride to be a part of these events when Club members can come together for a common goal. We are very lucky to have so many hard working volunteers in our Club.
Great effort everyone.

Croquet
The profile of croquet is on the rise, and we have many indicating that they would like to learn to play. Wednesday and Friday social croquet have been well supported and a photographer from the Times arrived unannounced last Wednesday. Although the story incorrectly mentioned the Busselton Croquet Club the photos were definitely of our Wednesday group.
Court Extension:
The second court is coming along well. Some areas are completely covered and there are plenty of runners in other areas. The watering regime has been greatly reduced and the court has been mowed weekly for the last month.
Thank you to Raelene Willis, David Morris and Terry South for all their work. Last Wednesday the court was rolled as well.
Friday Night Social Croquet:
Depending on the weather and light this may only run until Easter. Be there by 5pm for instruction or practise, and then games will be organised until about 6.15. The cost is $3 for members and $5 for social and non members.
Friday Night Dinners:
We kept up our high standard of presentation for Friday Night meals by once again decorating with a Black Friday scheme. Thank you to our helpers on the night.

Dunsborough X-Adventure 2015
The weekend of March 14 & 15 brought the X-Adventure triathlon to Dunsborough, with the Dunsborough Country Club hosting several thousand competitors and visitors.
Competitors from far and near competed in long course, short course and kids triathlon races over the weekend. Standalone paddle races were held on the Saturday morning. The event was a rip-roaring success in showcasing what Dunsborough has to offer visitors looking for adventure.
The feedback on the course was very positive. Many people mentioned the high quality and variety of the mountain bike course. The Country Club provided excellent facilities for weary muddy competitors to clean up and for spectators seeking shelter and food.
Spectator highlights include the jump into the ocean at Castle Rock during the run leg along with the ramp over ‘the sheep dip’ on the mountain bike course.
The long course, held on Sunday, was a 1.5km ocean swim, 12km coastal trail run and a 22km mountain bike. The short course, held on Saturday, was a 700m ocean swim, 6km coastal trail run and a 12km mountain bike. The kids race included a 200m swim, 6km run and 4km mountain bike.
The weather delivered great conditions for the race, with Sunday morning providing glassy water on the bay for the long course swim. The kids had a great adventure race with the heaviest showers of the weekend falling around 4pm on Saturday as they started the swim.
Dunsborough was well represented with many local men, women and children taking part. Notable results where…
- Jess Reynolds won the Prime (18-39) female long-course race on Sunday in a time of 3:03:37
- Balinga Pasco came second in the prime (18-39) male long-course race on Sunday in a time of 2:30:05
- Rowan Brown won the Prime (18-39) male short-course race on Saturday a time of 1:23:53
- Johan Poncet, Florie Gibier and Mike Longman won the mixed team short course in 1:39:27
- Peter (Tank) Matthews won the Vintage (50+) Male short course in 1:43:18
Congratulations to all place getters and participants.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly and safely. Special thanks to Richard Renn who worked tirelessly to set up the course and Amber Nash who organised the volunteers.
Thanks also to Club Manager Bruce Taylor, volunteers from all all sections of the Country Club, Cape Mountain Bikers and other local sporting organisations and vendors who helped to make the Dunsborough X-Adventure a huge success for the Dunsborough Country Club and broader community.
