Mixed Pairs.

The Tyres & More Mixed Pairs Championship started last Saturday with ten teams nominated.  The first game was played in near perfect conditions but then the temperature started coming in around 12 noon so we ended up playing in a bit of heat.

Three games are being played each of this two day event.  The Mott/Hoover team managed to win each of their three games and so far lead the list with five teams on two wins each.  DeBoer/Coupar, Winchcombe/Barry, the two Sharpes, Gage/Chester and the two Kellys all sit on two wins.  The second day of this championship is being played on Sunday January 22nd starting at 9:15am.

Afternoon Tea.  A request is made to the male bowlers to each bring a small plate of sandwiches and the ladies will bring the hot savouries.  It is hoped that everyone will stay behind for some time and enjoy each other’s company.

Australia Day Bare Foot Bowls is scheduled.  A notice is on the board for those wishing to play.  If not enough interest is shown for this event then it will remain a men’s social bowls day as per usual.

Sunday 29th January is the first day of the Bootleg Brewery Championship pairs with the final day to be announced.

Friday Night Invite A Friend Bowling was very successful with 68 bowlers (with a few members) on the green.  All having a good time.  42 stayed on for a meal while 26 enjoyed a free sausage sizzle.  The dining room was booked out so it was a win / win for all concerned.
