Happenings Around The Club

Each week we will be highlighting 3 of our Club Signage Sponsors. These important Sponsors to our Club are all displayed around the Bowling Green fence.

These Sponsors are Partners of the DDCC and we ask you as Members to

whole-heartedly support them in their business.

A huge THANK YOU to the first 3 of our Club Signage Sponsors for their support of the Dunsborough & Districts Country Club.

If possible could everyone who has already paid their 2018/19 Membership pick up their Cards from the Club prior to 31st of July.

Vicki will be at the Club Wednesday &Thursday this week from 10am to 4pm and from Tuesday 24th Jul to Friday 27th Jul between 10am to 4pm for Card pick up. Otherwise please ask the barstaff if they can help you. We are trying to save on postage 900 cards = $900 postage.

Occasionally the new Membership Cards won’t work at the POS at the bar- should this be the case for your Card- please let Vicki Or Mike Howes know and this will be corrected-it is a small issue and easily sorted.

Many Thanks
Vicki Frost

We had a lot better weather for our bowls and 25 bowlers turned up to play.

Maureen Hines played very well to be first into the finals followed by Wayne Coyle, Chris Jackson and Graeme Winter.

There were some excellent shots played in the 4 end final but Maureen was too strong and won the day. Good going.

Thanks everyone for coming along and hope to see you all next week.

THURSDAY BOWLS-July 10th 2018

On Thursday we had a good field of 30 bowlers with Steve Kristensen going home with a meat pack and he was ably supported by Geoff Oddy and Bill Pearce.  The runners up were Toby McCarthy and Ken Hill.. The consolation went to the Rob Wilson and Graeme Winter and the prized chocolate award going to Rob Prentice (chocolates to boiled lollies) and Lindsay Perry.

On Saturday a small but very talented field of bowlers  competed with Dennis Frost and

Don Henderson finishing on the podium.

On Friday night the Jackpot of $1000.00 was won by a croquet player Jacqueline B.  Congratulations Jacqueline, we were all excited for you.  Another 2 players won $20.00 each, Don and Caryll.  Seems the croquet table was very lucky.  Let’s hope this luck continues on to other players.  A special thanks to Karen who goes around to the members selling and promoting the $100.00 club each week.

Also to Frances who works tirelessly on Friday evenings, attending to tables and the members needs.  Frances does this without taking a cent for herself.  The money she earns is donated to the croquet club.  This is a very selfless act and we applaud Frances for this.

The dreaded flu had attacked some of our cherished players.  Let’s hope you all get well soon and are back on court.  We miss you on court and at drinkie times.

If any Country Club member would like to come along and try out croquet, our playing times are Wed and Fri afternoons between 2-5pm.  Equipment   available.  You will be very welcome.

Hi riders,

Regular MTB ride leaves 4.30pm every Wed, weather permitting, from Dunsborough Country Club.

Approx 1.5 to 2 hours ride, cross country, 25 kms give or take a few kms.

BYO lights essential.

This replaces our 6.30 am ride over winter, as we  would rather sleep in at the moment!

Cheers, Helen
