Croquet Update
Glad Butterly
It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Glad Butterly. Glad was a croquet player with us for many years in the “Golden Era” of Association Croquet, retiring only a few years ago as she approached 90. We remember her as a lovely lady, quiet and calm with a firm hit and at times a twinkle in her eye. Our condolences go to her family. RIP
2016 Ricochet Doubles Championship
Last Friday, the Croquet Section played its round robin Ricochet Doubles Championship. Each of 5 teams consisted of an experienced Ricochet player and a novice. We decided on this format to include players from the two Dunsborough croquet groups in a form of the game all could play. It resulted in an enjoyable day of 4 matches for each team, lunch, presentation and dinner.
The winners of the day were Raelene Willis and Max Kewish – 36 hoops; then came Terry Herd and Wendy Collins – 32; Robin Beer and David Bell – 27; Bob Hay and Kate Speedy – 21; David Collins and Helen Beer – 20. Well done to all especially the novices who were prepared to give it a go.
The incidental prizes were: “Dressage” – Beer Bellies (Robin Beer/David Bell; “Guile” – Raelene Willis – Jump Shot; “Miracle” Shot – David Bell/ Robin Beer

A busy bee will be held at the Country Club on Saturday April 2nd.
The purpose is to undertake Stage 1 of the proposed Landscaping Project and will involve the moving of on-site rocks to form several tiered areas around the East side of the tennis courts.
The busy bee will commence at 9.am & I estimate it should take about 2 hours. Those attending are advised to wear gloves.
Next dates Sunday April 3rd and Sunday April 10th, both from 9am for a couple of hours. Trail maintenance for X Adventure race planned. More info to be posted closer to these dates.
