‘Yoga for over 50’s’ at Dunsborough and Districts Country Club, for ladies AND gentlemen ~
Beginners welcome !
In the words of local Dunsborough resident and yoga instructor Mandy Lancellas ‘I thrive on encouraging those who feel they ‘can’t do yoga’ to become those who can, by exploring the multiple benefits for the body, mind and soul. Gentle Hatha Yoga enables the body and mind to find calm and focus in the present moment. It is through breath awareness that we manage to realign our physical body with the mental and energetic systems. Our main focus is safe and effective alignment, to create awareness, strength and mobility. As we grow older the saying of ‘what we do not use, we loose’ begins to resonate with us more and more and so its vital to keep the body moving in a gentle and safe way, maintaining a healthy range of movement throughout our senior years and reducing the risks of injury.’
Mandy invites anyone who is interested to join this gentle and safe yoga practice, suitable for all levels including beginners and people over 50.
Date: Wednesdays
Time: 9:00 am
Venue: Dunsborough and Districts Country Club

CROQUET NEWS
Last weekend the AC Handicap Doubles tournament was held. Five pairs entered and they played a round robin format; four 2 ½ hour matches over the two days.
It was pleasing to have three newer AC players participate, Karen Martin, Don Edwards and John Bastian. The tournament was well refereed by top local player and club coach, David Morris.
AC is the most complicated of the three croquet forms, and those not yet confident enough to enter interclub competitions enjoyed the chance to improve their skills and strategy while under a bit of pressure.
There was a very enthusiastic buzz around the courts, and this bodes well for the future of AC at Dunsborough. Thank you to AC Captain Raelene Willis for organising the weekend, and to David Morris for making himself available to referee.
Three of the pairs each won three games and the overall winners, after hoops for and against were taken into consideration. were Terry Herd and John Bastian. Congratulations to all participants.
Raelene Willis, John Bastian, Helen South, Terry Herd, Kate Speedy, Max Kewish,
Karen Martin, Don Edwards, Vaile Drake, David Bell
Winners are Grinners: Terry Herd and John Bastian
Last week croquet held their AGM and some new office bearers are now on the committee.
President: Max Kewish
Vice President: Brian Uren
Secretary: Helen South
Treasurer: Caryll Marshall
Croquet A/C Captain: Raelene Willis
Ricochet Captain: Karen Martin
Golf Captain: Brian Uren
Green Team: Wonderful Volunteers
Welcome to All and hope we have an enjoyable, profitable and fun year.
Croquet held a money tree raffle at the Melbourne Cup Luncheon. This was very successful raising some much-needed funds for new croquet balls. The luncheon and the day were wonderful, many thanks to all the organisers.
Over the weekend the A/C croquet players held a competition where one experienced player was coupled with a new player. There were 5 doubles, and hopefully some of the new players may take up this highly strategic game in the future. Well done to all who participated.
Green two will be out of action for the next couple of weeks due to maintenance that is required.
Maybe we can all go and play on lawn areas around Dunsborough on a Friday afternoon, like we did last year. Your golf Captain Brian will keep you informed.
