CORPORATE BOWLS

The first round of the Corporate Bowls season has just completed with a very close finish posted for both the Tuesday and Wednesday night teams

The winning team for Tuesday night was Bring Back the Grass with team members Andrew Bromley, Neil Parker, Alistair Johnson and Shane Partington The team was ecstatic with their win and have already made plans to win the next round to go into the Cowaramup Challenge and win that also.

Three teams finished on 10 points for second spot but Dad’s Army managed to sneak in before Team Norton.

The Wednesday night competition finished this week with a number of teams snapping on each other’s heels.  The Good Goers had a win over the fancied Waterspouts which had appeared to be running into the winning circle but this loss forced them out and they dropped to 5th place and the Good Goers snuck into 2nd spot with D Triple J running 3rd.  The overall winner was Bar McFlys with the team of Shaun Costello, Damien Mazzucchelli, Ryan Haigh and Sam Allen.

They said no way Bring Back the Grass would beat them!!

Huge thanks and appreciation go to all the sponsors including Palmers, Amigos, Artezan, Rivendel, Eagle Bay Brewery, and two new sponsors for Wednesday night, Solutions for Hair and Beef by the Reef which donated two huge legs of Christmas Ham to be raffled off.

Not winning anything but certainly the best fancy dressed team is Captain Pirate who stole the hearts of many!  Well-done to all team over both nights and many, many thanks to all the volunteers.

Further renovation work on several greens is to be followed up.

Notification of this work will be advised.

We are also working on submitting a proposed Three Year Plan for Golf so that we may be able to attract some outside grant money to enable improvements to be carried out.        Pics of some of the current work around the course:
