PRESIDENT”S REFLECTIONS
- Welcome back Bruce after your second knee replacement and thanks to Vicki for filling in your big shoes for two weeks.
- Farewell to Ian and Joy Potts who are leaving us for the metropolitan area. They have been very valuable members of our Club (Ian a life member) and will be sadly missed. We wish them every happiness and trust they will visit their Club from time to time.
- Mikes Howes is due to have an operation on Thursday and we wish him a speedy recovery.
- Garden Gnomes – I have noticed a few Garden Gnomes from time to time weeding the front, tennis and rose gardens. Thank you.
- Thanks to Ken and Erika Littlefair for your donation of frangipanis. Rob Pollard has positioned 8 to be planted at the top of the entrance/tennis garden and we would like a few people to take this task on. Please bring suitable tools as the ground is gravelly.
- I notice David Collins (croquet) supervising visitors playing bowls and croquet early last Friday. Good Club spirit.
- Five Year Strategic Plan- The Management Committee is again asking all sections to consider their vision of the Club over a 20 year period. Then, with that vision in mind, review and update their priorities for inclusion in the strategic 5 year plan. All members are encouraged to get involved and express their thoughts to their respective committees.
Funding five year plans is equally important and the Management Committee is investigating government and non-government funding options.

CYCLE NEWS
In Cycling news, the refurbishment of Firey’s Descent has been met with lots of approval from local and visiting riders. We are seeing lots of riders on the tracks, making use not only of our fabulous trails but those recently developed up in Meelup Park too.
Weekly social rides leave the Country Club from 5pm on a Friday afternoon, check Facebook for details. Great opportunity to have dinner and a beer afterwards at the Club Night Dinner.
As we head into the hotter weather, we encourage people to be aware of the wildlife out on the tracks as lots of snakes have been spotted recently! And of course stay hydrated out there! With these warmer temperatures take plenty of water when you go out riding.
Have fun out there!!
