CROQUET

After a break for the festive season players will return to the greens this week, with AC sessions on Tuesday and Friday morning and Golf Croquet sessions on Wednesday and Friday afternoon. This Saturday, the 16th, the Croquet Section will introduce a Saturday fixture. Play will commence at 2pm and you need to be there about 15 minutes prior so matches can be organised. The form of croquet to be played will be determined by who turns up on the day. Instruction and equipment will be available for new players. Chef Hamish will have tapas available from 4pm, so allow time for some socialising.

Gala Day: The annual Gala Day and Christmas lunch was held prior to our Christmas break. Thank you to all who contributed in any way to the success of the day. 21 players spent the morning testing their croquet skills with a range of challenging activities, and then they were joined by past players for some Christmas cheer. A special presentation was made to Stuart and Norma Dunn in recognition of their contribution to the croquet section. Unfortunately Stuart and Norma are not well enough to continue playing and next year they will relocate to Perth.

Twilight Croquet: 10 players enjoyed Twilight Croquet last Friday and these sessions will continue over the summer. Arrive at about 5pm for a quick practise and then play golf croquet. The cost is $3 for DDCC members and $5 for social and non members.
