FAQ’s (Frequently asked questions)

  1. How do I earn loyalty points?

Just present your membership card at time of bar purchase.

2.  How do I redeem a Reward at the bar?

Just ask the barperson at time of purchase for a Reward redemption (assumes you have accumulated enough loyalty points!)

3.  How do I redeem other Non-bar Rewards?

The Point-of-Sale (Collect) system will send you an email when a Reward threshold is reached. You can redeem your Reward online and print the redemption certificate which you then take with you to the appropriate location (chef, sponsor etc). If you do not have a printer at home you can ask the Club Manager to print the certificate for you.

4.  How do I know how many loyalty points I have accumulated?

If you have not disabled your email options, you will be notified by email each time you make a purchase. Otherwise, you can ask a barperson at any time.

5.  I don’t want emails. Can I stop them?

You can turn off selected emails by logging on to your Collect account and disabling certain emails, or by requesting the Club Manager do it for you.

6. What if I don’t have my Membership Card with me?

You will not accumulate any loyalty points for that bar purchase.

7.  Can I redeem my Rewards for cash?

No. This option is not available.

8.  Can I transfer my Rewards to someone else?

Bar redemptions cannot be transferred. However, if you redeem a non-bar Reward there is nothing to stop you giving it to someone else to use.

9.  What if I don’t want to earn loyalty points?

That is your choice.

New Tennis Courts

By way of overall summary we raised $100,000 in untied grants ($50,000 from the City of Busselton and $50,000 from the Department of Sport & Recreation) and secured a Self Supporting Loan for $114,000 at 3.8% interest over 10 years from the City of Busselton.  We are also confident of securing another $10,000 from Tennis Australia.

The final touches for this Project include replacing the green synthetic grass (2 courts) with new two tone blue synthetic grass and the 2 new hard courts will be the same two tone blue as the existing blue hard courts.  It will look consistent and inviting and will attract more players over the summer months.  We wish to thank the other sporting sections for accommodating all of our contractors.

It did not all go smoothly (see photo attached) but mostly it was very well done.

I must pay tribute and highly recommend all of our contractors; Wood & Greive Engineers, BCP Civil & Plant, Margaret River Fencing and West Coast Synthetics.

Many thanks must go to the Project Committee included John McCallum, Greg Banfield, Brian Walker, Terry Hodges and Mike Howes for their time and effort in securing and planning of the project.

MENS & LADIES BOWLS

Tuesday Mixed Bowls

30th May 2017

16 players turned up for another day of mixed bowl;s.  Good fun and enjoyment was had by all and some very good bowls played also.

Ken Littlefair, Graeme Winter, Peter Wilcocks And Hans Queckfeldt advanced to the final with Ken playing the better shots to win the day, followed by Graeme in second spot with Peter and Hans tied for third.  Well done Ken and hope to see you all back next week.

Thursday

The meat went to king arm Ralph Don, who skippered Norm Gage (emulating Wally Dawson by hiding in the toilet when the skips ticket were handed out).

Close behind were swede Hans Queckfelt and larrikin Ian Creagh.

Ken Holyoake partnered visitor Mike Cummings for the Mars.

Saturday 

Tom Reynolds, fresh from winning the mixed pairs in Norfolk Island with his dear Helen, partnered Maureen Hines to win first prize.

The Pres. Rob Prentice, and Martin Osborne, were worthy runners-up.

MEN’S GOLF

Last Wednesday Results.

 

Ian Potts was the winner on 36 points on a count back from Mike Brown also on the same score.

Novelties No. 18 Long putt, was Barry Guest

No. 10 No on on the green for their first shot.

 

There was no golf last Saturday due to the “Down South MTB Festival 2017”

 

This Wednesday, June 7, there will be Vets golf at Balingup. Golfers not going to Vets can still come along and have a game.

 

Next Saturday there will be a 4BBB competition and there will be a draw for partners.

Names in by 11.45 for a 12Noon start.

 

A big problem on the Golf course is the accumulation of leaves in the many drains which run though the course.

To remove these leaves is quite a difficult job and either entails their physical removal or by burning.

A test was recently carried out on a Leaf suction machine, which sucks the leaves out of the drains, mulches them and blows tem into the back of the Tip Truck.

They can then be taken to a separate area for burning or can be used as fine mulch.

A demonstration was carried out last week and was attended by a group of Ladies and Gents Golf members.

Due to the success of the demonstration, steps are being taken to purchase this unit.

LADIES GOLF

NINE HOLES.30TH MAY

Winner of the Ambrose threes were, Aviva Gordon, Helen Rowell and Sue Hart with 27 points.

 

EIGHTEEN HOLES 1ST JUNE.

15 ladies played a round of stroke , putting, Silver Spoon and International Bowl.

Winner with net 70 was Helen Rowell, from runner-up May Armstrong on net 73.

Best gross score was won by Jill Winter with a score of 93 strokes.

 

The Silver Spoon was won by Pat Manton on 74 net.

 

Longest Drive handicaps 33 –44 was won by Gem Coupar, and Handicaps

down to 32 by Jill Winter.

 

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK.

The trouble with the Rat Race is that when you win, you’re still a rat.!!!

Hi riders,

We had a huge weekend with the State Series XCO Mountain Bike races held on our course on Sunday June 4th. Over 200 riders competed, with more racing in a dual slalom race and jump competition.

A huge thanks firstly to Chris Parkinson who worked alongside event organiser Neil Fox to make the event happen. Second huge thanks to our great volunteers who helped out on our trail care days before the event, and constructed jumps and upgraded features, ie making jumps BIGGER! Third but not least, thanks to all the volunteers who helped out in various roles on the Sat and Sun of the event.

More thanks go to City of Busselton for sponsoring the event, and the following businesses who donated prizes for the event.

Friday Night Jackpot

The Jackpot Draw on Friday night was not won. The Jackpot will be $1000 this week.  Members must be financial and present to claim. The Jackpot is drawn between 5.30pm and 6.30pm in the Clubroom bar.
